Silver has the tendency to sound bright and hard compared to copper. This is a very High grade copper that will give better results than silver wire.
The Copper is made with a pure electrolytic bar with 0 recycling content. The straw color of the copper is due to the absolutely oxide free mirror surface. The purity is beyond the ability to measure. Surface conductivity is in the 103.5 ranges.
Unlike conventional copper which is quick annealed with an electric current process called resistance annealing this copper is annealed the hard way in reduction ovens. Not just at the end of the drawing process, but at every step in the process. Custom diamond dies polish the wire as it is drawn. The conductor is always coated to protect it at all times even between drawing steps. The conductor is urethane enameled; a process that prevents the copper oxidizing.
18ga copper is great for speaker cables. Thread copper through cotton and run 1 strand for the positive 1 for the negative. The 18ga. copper only fits in tthe 2.5mm cotton. See information page for further details. |
