The Neutrik silver plated XLRs are te best budget XLR available. It's used by many high end manufacturers including Transparent audio, Van den Hul and Nordost.

Neutrik also has a Gold plated XLR connector that employs nickel underplating but the direct Silver plated contacts are superior to the gold plated version.

Compared to the Furutech FP-701M and 702F (24K Gold plated Eutectic Cast Brass), the Neutrik silver plated XLR is a lot more open and has a bit more detail up top.
